Personal Brand from within - 3 key learnings

A strong Personal Brand reflect your confidence and self esteem.


Very often people speak about personal branding in terms of how you present yourself to the world or market place. True personal brand start from within that 'You know you'.


Do you know you?

Do you know you? Do you know character, your attitude, your habits, your behaviors, your strengths and your weakness?

When I was ask this question many years back, I was puzzled. Looking back, it was definitely a worthwhile question to ponder upon. It took me years to discover myself and I am still in the process of improving ME. The result of my work on myself is amazing ~ I enjoy more happiness within, less bother about other people's opinion, more focus on work, less focus on the outside noise that is destructive, better business growth, less unsatisfied events, more like minded friends and business associates, enjoyable working environment. All this as a result of CHANGING ME ! I summarize my on going self improvement journey in 3 key learnings.


Spend time with SELF

I used to like to hang out with friends over coffee on my day off. Now my favorite time is to be with myself every morning to kick start my day with happy feeling. Everyday I woke up to remind myself life is great and I need to remember to respect and value ME by feeling happy and at peace with myself every moment. I spend at least 10 minutes seating by myself to be present and feel every part of my body that I am grateful to be alive. This helps me to avoid moments of upset or drop any negative feelings or emotions when encounter challenging situation during the day. At night before I go to bed, I will spend time with myself by reflecting throughout the day what had happen and what was my learning from those events. This keeps me continuously improving myself to be better.


Be patience with ME

Do not compare with others.

I came to know that if I criticize myself, I do not value ME. If I compare myself with others, I do not value ME.

Comparing with others is a common habit among human being. When one compare with others, you will never feel good about yourself. By focusing on improving myself, I learn to be patience with my growth and change for the better. I am compassion with the mistake that I made, knowing that it is an experience for me to learn to be better. Every experience that I encounter is to improve me and is nothing to do with others when the result is not what I anticipate. I also learn to let go of anticipation and expectation as it will put one self into disappointment when things does not go our way.


Feel good


Years back when my mentor said the greatest gift that I can give myself is to Accept and Appreciating everybody in this life, I totally agreed with him. In real life, I was not able to practice it, is easy to accept and appreciate the people that is nice and treat me well, but to those whom treat me unfairly or did unjust to me, I cannot accept them nor appreciating them. My realization came on one fine day when I got scolded by a family member and to my surprise I was able to remain calm and not affected at all, I have this 'feel good' feeling in my body with a smile on my face - my realization was to accept and appreciate a person as she is and not get affected is the greatest gift that I can give to myself. As a result, I have my peace within and I do not get myself stress out by holding on to the incident.
