Is the core business providing services or products that is in demand in the market place or potentially help to close an existing or a near future gap in the market? Once identify the right core business activity, the next steps is to identify what needs to be done to ensure the success of the core business

This is when the strategic planning and brain storming with various stakeholders involved are crucial. The leader or owner of the company has to be able to drive the people to the vision that the company wants to achieve. Clear and specific goals with timeline to documented and it mush gain the understanding and commitment of departmental head. Strategic plan must be able to list down all the components and actions that is required with specific deadline to ensure the success of the company's goals.

Hire the right people for the right job. If everyone in the company is doing the right thing, success is almost guarantee. Head of department must be involved in the process of hiring their team members, they are the goal keeper to ensure that the potential candidate is a right fit to the job requirement and embrace the company culture and vision and supporting the team to works towards achieving a common goal.
